Is it obviouse to anyone else that the most awsome addition to this woulf be to have kitten decals on your ship hulls for every kitten you've killed?
also epic blog, great april fools... Now make it reality :-)
Also all battle mounts should be called LEEEROYYY Jenkins? Could also be the working title for this feature ;-) __________________________________________________

Edited by: Soden Rah on 01/04/2011 16:10:48 Hmm thinking about this and the fanfest presentations... they want to add in player driven black market. so they need to have station only tradeable items, that are not only valuable but that players care about. perhaps your custom designed tournement winning illeagal cross breed, war triceratops (or whatever) is just the thing. you spend months finding the right animals to breed with the right cybernetic modifications to create this creature, you beat all the others in your local station, you take it out into space to a big contest in a neighbouring system and suddenly your pulled over for smuggleing illegal items and to hand it over. This is no longer just about isk, this is your Pet they want... ;-) __________________________________________________

So this is a feature that would;
Not take away resources from eve spaceships/lag battles as its carbon/incarna tech and associated devs.
Increase the player base particularly in certain neglected demographics which incarna is particularly aimed at.
Increase immersion and add actual content to Incarna.
Provide items players might actually care about (due to emotional attachment/intrinsic value/time taken to create said items) which can only be used in station and would be perfect for developing the black market's you hinted at, at fanfest.
Are coding wise probably not to dissimilar to npc people wandering around which are supposed to be intractable. And in many cases might be simpler to implement.
Does not require participation by those not interested so it expands the options for playing and thus boosts the potential number of play styles and subscribers without putting current players off. (Except certain unnamed players who complain about everything that doesn't totally eliminate 0.0 massive fleet lag ;-) )
I am sure this was intended as an April fools, and it was very well written as such... But what I want to know is....
Why wouldn't you want to do this?

Also couldn't pet's be used as espionage. You might not be able to get your avatar into someone else's tactical breaifing room, but maybe a cybernetically enhanced mouse/moth could get in. The posibilites are to good to waste on a joke. __________________________________________________
